Understand Your Body. Transform Your Health.
Functional Nutritional Therapy provides a space to explore your health through a whole-person, bio-individual approach to nutrition and lifestyle, so you can feel heard, understand your unique health picture, and take meaningful steps towards feeling your best.
There Is More to Your Story Worth Exploring.
When traditional answers fall short, your body may be offering signals worth listening to. A root-cause approach brings together personalised support to help you recognise the patterns and connections within your health, and explore the WHY behind your symptoms and the influences shaping how you feel.
Nothing about you is random. Nothing in your body is broken — it is communicating.
Human health is multifactorial. So as FNTP we considers the many interconnected factors that can influence how you feel. It isn’t about chasing quick fixes or following the latest health trend.
It’s about understanding the functions and dysfunctions within the body, looking beyond the surface, and exploring how nutrition, lifestyle and other influences may be interconnected.
It’s about slowing down, looking at the whole person, asking better questions, doing the detective work, and creating practical strategies that honour your bio-individual needs and fit your life.
You deserve to feel heard, understood and supported — not reduced to a symptom, a diagnosis, or a single number on a blood test.
Fatigue, mood changes, anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties, brain fog, skin concerns, nutrient deficiencies, constipation, chronic inflammation and hormonal concerns don’t always exist in isolation.
They can be influenced by a range of interconnected factors, including:
Blood sugar regulation
Gut health and inflammation
Microbial balance
Nutrient status and depletion
Chronic stress and overall stress load
Nervous system regulation
Sleep and circadian rhythm
Environmental toxins and influence
Lifestyle factors
At The Core Whispers, we believe the body has the capacity and innate intelligence to heal and restore balance itself when we create the right conditions for it to do so.
What is Nutritional Therapy
A Holistic Approach to Health
Nutritional therapy looks at the whole person rather than focusing on individual symptoms. It considers nutrition, lifestyle, daily habits, and the body's overall wellbeing.
Nourishing the Body
The foundation of nutritional therapy is nourishing the body with nutrient-dense, whole foods — choosing seasonal, organic and pasture-raised animal foods where possible. The aim is to provide the body with the essential nutrients it needs to support energy, digestion, metabolism and overall wellbeing.
Personalised to You
Everyone is different. Nutritional therapy recognises that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to health. Recommendations are tailored to your individual needs, goals, lifestyle, and circumstances
Supports the Body's Natural Functions
Nutritional therapy focuses on supporting the body's normal physiological processes. Areas such as digestion, blood sugar balance, hydration, mineral balance, and essential fatty acids are always considered when developing a personalised wellness plan.
Nutrition Meets Lifestyle
Health is influenced by more than food. Sleep, stress, movement, hydration, relationships, environment, mindset, trauma, and daily routines can all play an important role. Nutritional therapy takes these factors into consideration to create a more complete approach to health.
Practical and Individualised Support
Nutritional therapy provides practical, bio-individual recommendations that can be incorporated into everyday life in a way that works for you.
The focus is on understanding your unique needs, providing evidence-informed education, and creating realistic, sustainable changes that support your health and wellbeing over time.
What Is It Like to Work with a FNTP?
When you begin working with an Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (FNTP), you’re stepping into a process built around you — your history, your lifestyle, your symptoms, your goals, and what feels realistic for your life.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Functional Nutritional Therapy looks at the bigger picture and uses your individual story to create personalised nutritional and lifestyle support.
DISCLAIMER: An FNTP is not trained to provide a diagnosis or treat any medical or pathological condition, injury, illness or disease and is not a replacement for a medical doctor.
-
In this 20-minute call, you’ll share your story and goals while we listen deeply and begin uncovering the root causes of your health challenges.
-
It starts with getting to know you.
You’ll complete an initial health history, a detailed Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire, and a 4-day food and mood journal. These provide valuable insight into your eating patterns, daily habits, energy, digestion, stress, sleep, and overall wellbeing.
The more complete the picture, the more personalised your recommendations can be.
-
We’ll look beyond your current symptoms and explore the factors that may be influencing how you feel.
This can include your health history, birth and early-life experiences, previous illnesses, medications and supplements, lifestyle, stress, environmental exposures, nutrition, digestion, sleep, and other relevant factors.
These details can provide important context and help identify areas that may deserve further attention.
-
Depending on your individual needs and your practitioner’s scope of practice, your session may include a range of non-invasive functional assessment techniques.
These may include palpation, reflex-point assessment, muscle-response testing, pulse assessment, and other nutritional therapy assessment methods.
These techniques are used as part of a broader nutritional assessment and are not intended to replace medical diagnosis or conventional medical testing.
-
Once we’ve gathered the information, we can begin putting the pieces together.
You’ll receive personalised nutrition and lifestyle recommendations based on your individual needs, goals, preferences, and circumstances.
This may include food and dietary strategies, nutrient-dense foods, lifestyle practices, and, where appropriate and within scope, nutritional supplement considerations.
Most importantly, I’ll explain why a recommendation may be useful, so you can understand your health rather than simply being handed a list of instructions.
-
Change takes time, and your needs can evolve along the way.
Follow-up sessions are tailored to you and may be scheduled anywhere from 2–8 weeks apart, depending on your goals, progress, and level of support needed. For those needing more regular support to stay motivated, I offer quick 15-minute catch-up consults weekly.
We’ll review what’s working, what isn’t, make adjustments where appropriate, and build your confidence so that you can become increasingly empowered and self-sufficient in managing your nutrition and wellbeing.
Some clients work with an FNTP for a short period to establish a strong foundation, while others prefer ongoing support and periodic “fine-tuning.”
